Nov. 6th 2003 At the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade, ASAK member Jelena Calic-Ljubojevic defended her MSc thesis: "Contact karst of ridge Dzevrinska Greda". Since 1998, 34 caves have been surveyed on 4.7 square km of Dzevrinska greda karst, among them the cave Drenjarski sistem (3731 m long).
Summer 2003 Members of ASAK and GS Magnan from Nice, France, spent two weeks on Mt. Miroc. Besides general caving and socializing, we managed to explore approx. 500 m of aquatic galleries in the cave Buronov ponor.
Summer 2003 A group of ASAK cavers participated together with cavers from Hungary at the caving expedition on Mt. Obzir in Montenegro (near Mt. Durmitor, just accross the Tara river canyon). Although the area has a potential for a cave deeper than 1000 m, the deepest caves did not exceed 180 m...
Summer 2003 Cavers from D.I. V.M. Manda finished their explorations of  cave "Jama u Majstorima", located on Mt. Lovcen in Montenegro. It is 388 m deep, and the 6th deepest cave in Montenegro.
Summer 2003 ASAK organized a new expedition to Mt Durmitor in Montenegro, in the area of Veliki Lomni Do. Several new vertical caves were explored. They are narrow, difficult, so far not deeper than 200 m, but some of them are continuing with strong draught...
Spring, 2003 Our country changed its name. Instead of Yugoslavia, it is now called Serbia and Montenegro. This caused a lot of "search and replace" work on these pages.

May-Nov, 2002 Faca Sora on Mt. Miroc is a new deep cave. Previously was thought to be approx. 150 m deep (ASAK, 1991), but during the visit of cavers from Hungary a continuation was found. The cave was resurveyed in November 2002 to the depth of -266 m (stopped by a siphon).
July-August, 2002 ASAK organized an international expedition to our deepest cave, Jama na Vjetrenim brdima on Mt Durmitor in Montenegro. The aim of the expedition was to resurvey the cave (old surveys are lost) and to explore the unexplored parts (side passages, and lowest parts). Due to heavy rains, only the depth of approx. 700 meters was reached. The cave was resurveyed to the depth of 460 meters.
Dec. 8th, 2000 Major update of the site, including new entries and updates of Yugoslav caving directory and  Directory of Yugoslav Biospeleology, new entries and updates of The list of deepest and longest Yugoslav caves, the page of the deepest cave in Serbia Rakin ponor, update of  Symposium pages, general ASAK info, etc.
Nov. 3rd-5th, 2000 4th Symposium on karst protection took place in Despotovac, Eastern Serbia. 32 papers were presented.
Aug.-Oct. 2000 In karst ridge Dzevrinska greda, near Mt Miroc, we discovered a new big cave. Two sump caves joined in a system named Drenjarski sistem. So far, it has 2856 meters and is still going on.
September, 2000 Speleo divers from SOB descended to Rakin ponor, dived 29 m deep, increasing the cave depth to 285 m. Rakin ponor is now the deepest cave in Serbia.
Feb 25, 2000 The 6 km barrier has been broken in Cerjanska pecina in October 1999. The list of deepest and longest Yugoslav caves has been updated.
Dec 16, 1999 Karst of Montenegro has been added  to the Yugoslav Karst page.
Oct 26, 1999 Many visitors of these pages come following the link from Yahoo in the Outdoors > Climbing category. The source of "Alpinistic" in our club's name, and the directions where to find info on alpinism, climbing and mountaniering in Yugoslavia, are given on a separate page.
July 23, 1999 The 4th Symposium on Karst Protection has been officially postponed till November 2000.
March 11, 1999 Our coleagues from Climbing Club "ACE" started their web pages at  www.as.org.rs.
The
Yugoslav caving directory has been updated with the "ACE" web, palaeontology contact and biospeleology contacts.
The Directory of Yugoslav Biospeleology has been created.
Jan 25, 1999 Our coleagues from SOB (speleologic branch of the Mountaineering Association of Belgrade) started recently with their web pages at  www.sob.org.rs. The Yugoslav caving directory has been updated.
Dec 14, 1998 The 1st call for participation on 4th Symposium on Karst Protection has been added. The symposium is scheduled for November 1999.
Nov 15, 1998 The new contact address for speleodiving in Yugoslavia has been added to the Yugoslav caving directory. The e-mail address for the SOB caving club has been added as well.
Nov 15, 1998 In August and September, new explorations and surveys in the far parts of Cerjanska pecina have been done. The new length is 5.715 m (525 meters of new galleries). The continuation of the cave, leading towards the Kravlje spring, has been found and awaits to be explored and surveyed. The list of deepest and longest Yugoslav caves has been updated.
August 17, 1998 The address of the Climbing club "ACE" (Penjacki klub "AS") has been added to the Yugoslav caving directory.
August 17, 1998 From July 22nd to 29th, ASAK was exploring again Mt. Miroc in eastern Serbia. The bottom of Ibrin ponor has been reached at -239 m, making this cave the 4th deepest cave in Serbia. The list of deepest and longest Yugoslav caves has been updated.
July 3, 1998 The external link to a chapter of NASA's Geomorphology from Space has been added to the Yugoslav Karst page. The Dinaric karst of the southern part of former Yugoslavia is described there, along with the satellite image of the territory of Montenegro.
July 3, 1998 The Sattelite Assemblage of the territory of Yugoslavia has been added to the Yugoslav Karst page.
